Welcome

I’ve had a desire for travel since a very young age. My Uncle Geoff has lived in Australia for as long as I can remember, as a child it was so exciting to receive his exotic postcards and letters and sparked a curiosity in me that I don’t think will ever be extinguished… no matter how many places I’m lucky enough to travel to.

When I left school, in an effort to earn my own money and learn about life as a travel agent I undertook the role of Youth Trainee at a high street travel agency chain. It was the perfect basis to start to grasp the intricacies of the evolving travel industry.
At the age of 19, hungry for a nomadic adventure I picked up my backpack and headed Down Under to find out about this country my Uncle had decided to settle in. I started in Sydney, spent 8 months travelling in a camper van, in awe of all the wonderful places I visited and people I met along the way. In all I spent 13 months on the road driving the full circuit of Australia.

Upon returning from my travels I worked as a Travel Consultant at Travelmood, an Australia/New Zealand specialist. Providing me the perfect platform to talk about Australia continuously! From there I became a Leisure Sales Account Manager with Qantas Airways when I was out on the road in the UK training travel agents on the Qantas Airways product. This was a job that meant a lot of travelling and long hours so when my two Sons came along it was time to reluctantly seek a more local, part-time role. I therefore joined American Express as a Business Travel Consultant. In 2014 our lives took a rather unusual turn when my husband’s job took our family to China for three crazy years. While I was unable to legally work in China, I didn’t waste the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Asia. The perfect way to expand my repertoire of knowledge and set myself up to become a knowledgable, home working Travel Agent. I specialise in Australia and Asia however pride myself on the fact that if I’m presented with an enquiry for a place I know little about I will endeavour to do the research for you. I am a ‘Travel-PA’ which is part of Sunset Holidays. To add some individuality and make my business more personable I have decided to trade under my own name - Zestful Travel. The name derives from my own name; Louisa. I once read that it means ‘Zest for Life’ - something I like to think I have, especially when it comes to travelling. I encourage everyone to embrace and experience new destinations and travel - Zestfully!
